This is perhaps, other than removing added sugar from your diet, the most important thing you can do with your nutrition (aka diet).
Most people (which probably means you) have no idea how much they eat in the course of a day. I mean, why should you? Food is just food, right? Wrong. Aside from the social aspect of food (which is a discussion all it’s own) food is FUEL.
We get energy from the calories in our food. Which means we should be paying attention to what you put in your body. Too much, it gets stored as fat and messes with the balance of our system. Too little and hormones and basic functions begin being altered to conserve energy which can also lead to weight gain.
So you need to find a balance. The balance that’s right for you. More than anything else (except the sugar thing), calorie balance is the foundation of weight and fat loss.
Calorie balance is super easy to do nowadays (had to look that up, it’s actually it’s own word). Apps like MyFitnessPal, Lose It!, and Lifesum make it pretty easy to track your calories throughout the day. Creating the right balance for YOUR body is key to reaching YOUR goals.
